Super Aguri Panther Racing announced today the addition of a third car for the IndyCar Series season finale at Chicagoland Speedway. Hideki Mutoh will fill the seat of the No. 60 Formula Dream Dallara Honda for his first career race in the IndyCar Series.

"The entire Panther team is extremely excited to help Hideki Mutoh make his debut in the IndyCar Series at Chicago," said team co-owner John Barnes. "He's proved to all of us that he deserves this opportunity by the way he's performed in the Indy Pro Series and way he's driven the IndyCar Series car during testing."

Mutoh tested at Mid-Ohio on the day after the series held their open test on the 2.258-mile road circuit. In addition to the testing at Mid-Ohio, Mutoh is scheduled to test at Kentucky, Chicagoland and Infineon before making his Chicago debut.

Mutoh scored his first Indy Pro Series on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, winning the first round of the Liberty 100 in June. Currently second in Pro Series championship standings, Mutoh has earned 8 top-five finishes and 10 top tens.

To move to the IndyCar Series, Panther Racing has hired Pancho Carter as a spotter/driver coach. Carter was paired with Sam Hornish Jr. at Panther when the team won back to back championships in 2001 and 2002.

Crediting the young driver with a fierce determination, Barnes said, "You can teach someone how to drive, but you can't teach them perseverance, to never give up."

"When I saw this kid," race at Homestead, "I knew he wasn't going to be in the Indy Pro Series for very long."
