The IZOD IndyCar Series television window on VERSUS will expand to include the live broadcasts of Firestone Indy Lights events at Barber Motorsports Park, Streets of Long Beach, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Iowa Speedway, Streets of Toronto, Edmonton City Centre Airport, Streets of Baltimore and Kentucky Speedway. The Firestone Indy Lights stand-alone event - the Streets of Trois Rivieres - will be taped for air at a later date.

"It is very important as we look to develop our future stars that we are able to provide opportunities to increase their exposure and build names," said Randy Bernard, chief executive officer, INDYCAR, the sanctioning body for the IZOD IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights. "The live broadcasts on VERSUS provides coverage on the fastest growing sports cable network in the country as well as helps further integrate Firestone Indy Lights into the momentum surrounding the IZOD IndyCar Series. We want to thank the team at VERSUS for working hard to make this happen."

"This is an extremely exciting development as we prepare for the start of the season," added Tony George Jr., manager of business development for Firestone Indy Lights. "The addition of live events of VERSUS is another element to further engage potential drivers, teams and sponsors and demonstrate the value of Firestone Indy Lights as the stepping stone to the IZOD IndyCar Series."

VERSUS has been the exclusive cable home to the IZOD IndyCar Series since 2008. On-air talent for the Firestone Indy Lights broadcasts will be announced at a later date.

2. Conway gets first seat time since May incident: The crash during the late stages of the Indianapolis 500 is a distant thought for Mike Conway, who has focused on returning to the IZOD IndyCar Series since receiving the go-ahead to begin rehabilitation.

It's been a physically and mentally arduous nine-month journey, but Conway will reach one of his goals March 7 by slipping behind the wheel of an IZOD IndyCar Series car for acclimation laps on the Homestead-Miami Speedway road course. The testing day precedes the Open Test on March 14-15 at Barber Motorsports Park, where he'll join new teammates Marco Andretti, Ryan Hunter-Reay and Danica Patrick.

Andretti Autosport announced Feb. 1 that Conway would compete for the veteran IZOD IndyCar Series team for the full 2011 season.

"I'm not nervous at all; just excited to get back in the car," he said. "It's been since May since I've been in a proper car. I'm just excited. I can't wait to get things going, start working and really get things going. I've been in some karts and various motorized things, but there is nothing quite like the IndyCar, so I can't wait just to get in."

Conway recorded three top-10 finishes in six races in 2010, including a high of eighth (advancing 11 positions) in the opener on the street of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The 2011 season-opening Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is March 25-27.

"Working with this team has already been great," continued Conway, who has competed in 23 races over two seasons. "Everyone is so excited and so pumped up for the season to hit. It's really nice to receive that kind of feeling when you come to a new team. It's great. I can't thank all the guys enough for having that belief in me. Now we just need to go out there and start winning."

3. INDYCAR receives gold ADDY Award: The 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series "Leave Your Mark" multimedia consumer campaign received the gold ADDY Award - the highest national honor -- from the American Advertising Federation.

The campaign communicated the speed, innovation and excitement of the IZOD IndyCar Series on a national level and in race markets. It was an invitation for fans to leave their mark on the sport as it leaves its mark on them. The aggressive angle of the cars along with the paint-peel effect and burnout tracks gives the notion of the car moving so quickly its own paint scheme can't keep up.

The annual ADDY Awards is the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition, attracting more than 50,000 entries each year. The local ADDY Awards is the first of a three-tier, national competition. Concurrently, across the country, local entrants vie for recognition as the best in their markets. At the second tier, local winners are pooled in one of 14 district competitions. District winners are then forwarded to the national ADDY Awards competition.

It's the third consecutive year that INDYCAR has received an ADDY Award.
