Dry Practice Day Gives Panther Time for Work on Race Setup
Qualified Meira Tests Springs, Shocks During 81 Practice Laps

(May 15, 2008) -- With his No. 4 Delphi National Guard car already comfortably qualified for the 92nd Running of the Indianapolis 500, Panther driver Vitor Meira worked to fine tune his race setup during practice. After testing multiple spring and shock settings during the afternoon, Meira came away from his 81-laps of running positive that his car will be a factor in next Sunday's event.

Meira's quick lap was 221.763 mph, 40.5839 seconds.

Vitor Meira:

"I couldn't be happier with where we are as a team right now. Things have settled down for us and it's made a big difference. It's great to start in the middle of the third row, we're right in the middle of the Ganassi's, Penske's and AGR cars. That shows what's been going on with our team, and that everything is going pretty good. We're right there. I think during the race, we're going to be even closer. Overall, the car was really strong today and I'm really happy."
