Justin pleased to qualify 11th for Indianapolis 500

After a week of unpredictable weather and interrupted running, Justin and Dreyer & Reinbold Racing came on strong when it counted on Pole Day by qualifying the No. 22 Z-Line Designs car in 11th position. Justin made one four-lap qualifying run with an average speed of 225.050 mph and will line up for his third Indianapolis 500 in the middle of row 4. The result also earns him four championship points.

Justin's performance capped a strong day for DRR which was the only four-plus car team to get all of its cars in the show on Pole Day. Mike Conway will start from 15th in the No. 24 Dad's Root Beer car, while Tomas Scheckter (No. 23 Mona Vie) and Ana Beatriz (No. 25 Ipiranga) will start from 20th and 21st respectively.

"I'm really pleased with my team's performance today in the Z-Line Designs car," said Justin. "The changes my engineer Matt Curry made put me in the position to really to push it in qualifying trim. The car was on the edge a bit during my qualifying laps, but it was the fastest it's been since we unloaded it from the transporter. Larry Curry said in a team meeting last week that the goal is to peak at the right time and he was right. I'm happy starting in 11th and now it's time to get the car into race trim. I want to congratulate my teammates at DRR for all qualifying in the top 24. Mike, Tomas and Ana did a terrific job today. My crew never gave up and I have to thank them for giving it their all as well."

The team will be back on track today (Sunday, May 23) focusing on race set-up as they prepare for the 94th running of the Indianapolis 500 next Sunday, May 30. This week sees the traditional build up to the big race. Justin will join the other 32 qualifiers for a two-day media tour to New York on Monday and Tuesday, and the IZOD IndyCars will then have one more chance to tweak their race set-ups on Carb Day (Friday, May 28) before race day. Most of the on-track action this week will come from the Firestone Indy Lights cars and it will be a big week for Justin's brother Stefan as he focuses on his first Firestone Freedom 100 on Friday.

We'll bring you a brief pre-race reminder a few days beforehand with details of TV coverage.
