HVM'S E.J. VISO OKAY AFTER CRASH AT INDY

Indianapolis, IN (May 16, 2008) - HVM Racing driver E.J. Viso met the wall today in turn three on his second lap of practice just after noon at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Just minutes after the green flag fell, E.J. completed his installation lap, and was working on getting up to speed when the back end of the race car stepped out in the middle of turn three and he slid up into the wall between turns three and four. He impacted the SAFER barrier and fortunately suffered no injuries. The #33 car is in fairly good shape as well, which is a blessing considering the team does not have a fully functional spare car for the Speedway.

There was damage to the rear wing and attenuator, but all bodywork and suspension is good and the HVM Racing crew spent the remainder of the afternoon ensuring everything on the car will be perfect for the third round of qualifications (positions 12-33) tomorrow afternoon.

The team will make their first qualifying attempt tomorrow for their first Indianapolis 500.

E.J. Viso:

"The car got loose mid-corner and the back end came around and I just lost it. That's it. We're going over the data to see what happened but we'll be good for tomorrow and can hopefully get in the show early."
