IZOD IndyCar Series - Indianapolis 500-Mile Race
Indianapolis Motor Speedway - Speedway, Ind.
May 15-30, 2010 - Round 6 of 17

Race Distance: 500 miles/804.672 km (200 laps on the 2.5-mile/4.023-km superspeedway).

Firestone Firehawk Race Tires Supplied:

* A full-program entry receives 33 sets (132 tires) for all of practice, qualifying and the race; additional sets available for those participating in rookie orientation and veteran refresher programs; total of 5,620 tires available.

* Tire stagger: A single tire stagger of approximately 0.30 of an inch is available for all cars at the 2010 Indianapolis 500. Stagger is the diameter difference between the right rear and left rear tires, with the right rear larger in diameter by design to make a racecar naturally want to turn left.

Firestone's tire specification for Indianapolis is all new following tire testing at the speedway in October 2009. The 2010 Firehawk spec features updated compound formulas for all four tire positions and a slight change to the construction of the left rear tire in a continuing effort to reduce understeer.

From Al Speyer, Executive Director, Firestone Racing: "Here we are back at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 'Greatest Spectacle in Racing.' Just like everyone else, we get a special feeling like no other place when we enter this tremendous facility teeming with tradition. Firestone has been a big part of the Indianapolis 500's legacy and will be so again as the exclusive supplier of tires for all of the 2010 competitors. We take that responsibility quite seriously and have endeavored to improve yet again on the Firehawk tire specification that performed very well here a year ago. We're eager to see how the new schedule unfolds this May, particularly the pole day qualifying format that should provide incredible excitement for the fans. And while there have been changes to the days leading to the main event, we know that the time-honored traditions will prevail come race day. 'Back Home Again in Indiana' will play, balloons will be released, 33 drivers will take the green flag and 500 grueling miles later, one of them will see the checkered flag wave first and gulp the milk in Victory Lane. That driver will become the 61st Indy 500 winner for Firestone, a total more than all other tire manufacturers combined and a legacy of which we are quite proud."

Firestone "Tire-ific" Move of the Race: Following each IZOD IndyCar Series race again in 2010, Firestone Racing will nominate three drivers who best utilized their Firestone tires to make a bold, dramatic move during the event. Fans can go to www.indycar.com in the days after the race and vote for the nominee they believe made the most "Tire-ific" move. The $10,000 prize from Kansas - going to Ryan Hunter-Reay for advancing from 22nd starting position to finish fifth - will be awarded during Carburetion Day festivities on May 28.
