DREYER & REINBOLD RACING GETS TRACK TIME FOR OPENING DAY AT INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY

Indianapolis, IN (May 15, 2010) - Dreyer & Reinbold Racing managed to get some valuable first laps in for opening day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway before the weather rolled in. The team's drivers Mike Conway (No. 24 Dad's Root Beer), Justin Wilson (No. 22 Z-Line Designs), Tomas Scheckter (No. 23 Mona Vie), and Ana Beatriz (No. 25 Ipiranga) were all able to log some laps before the rain fell.

Although track time was limited, that didn't hinder DRR too much. Team newcomer, Ana Beatriz, was the fastest rookie of the day for opening day. The Brazilian was able to build from her relationship she started with the team back in March, as she was able to log in 20 laps and a top lap speed of 213.78 mph. As a result, Beatriz completed phase one and two and will advanced to phase three of Rookie Orientation Practice tomorrow.

As for her teammates, it was all about getting comfortable with the car and gaining gradual speed. Team veteran, Mike Conway, made his second appearance at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Brit was able to get his full amount of practice time as he completed 29 laps and clocked a top speed of 221.502 mph.

It was a similar story for Tomas Scheckter and Justin Wilson. The goal for the day was to make adjustments and get a good baseline for the month and that's exactly what they were able to accomplish. Wilson completed a total of 11 laps at a speed of 221.053 and Scheckter logged 19 laps and did a top speed of 121.62 mph.

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing will be on track tomorrow for day two of practice for the 94th running of the Indianapolis 500. For more updates on the team, please visit www.dreyerreinboldracing.com.

What they have to say about practice for the Indianapolis 500:

Justin Wilson, No. 22 Z-Line Designs: "My Z-Line designs car felt fantastic and I really enjoyed the few laps that we got. We had a little bit of down time and we were able to do a set down and worked on the set-up and we found that my helmet was buffeting quite a bit. We were able to fix that and like I said, everything felt really good. We have a baseline now and hopefully we will have a good month."

Tomas Scheckter, No.23 Mona Vie: "I'm really happy to be out here and to see all of the fans at the opening day of the month of May. We managed to get a few runs in and the car felt the same from when we tested it here a couple of months ago. The Mona Vie crew is doing a great job and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the month."

Mike Conway, No. 24 Dad's Root Beer: "It was great today to get back out on track at IMS and the Dad's Root Beer car was good. I was just trying to get comfortable with it. We weren't really going for times today with it being the first day. The main thing was to make sure the set-ups are right and work from there. We have a couple of days ahead of us where we can try and get more speed out of the car. Tomorrow we will slowly ease into it again and gradually make changes. The main thing for me is to progress from what I learned last year."

Ana Beatriz, No. 25 Ipiranga: "It was nice to turn some laps today and it was pretty similar to Indy Lights, but I definitely could feel the 200 more horsepower. Luckily we were able to get some track time and I completed two phases of ROP, which was great. I got very comfortable and the car was pretty good. Unfortunately, it started to rain again, but that's okay tomorrow we will have some more time and I will be able to get some laps by myself and find the limit."
