Indianapolis, IN (May 10, 2009) -- At 9am, the Indiana sunshine was brilliant coming into the Indianapolis Motor Speedway over the Turn 2 Grandstands with a light wind and a cloudless sky. By 12 Noon, the calm had turned to the stormy sea of emotions known as Indy 500 Qualifications.

For Davey Hamilton, the bright promise of having a quick qualifying run and placing him in the top 15 speed chase became a nerve racking day of hanging on. His four lap average of 221.082 places him in the 22nd starting position on the provisional starting lineup. After a frustrating day for his Dreyer & Reinbold teammates, the HP "Touch the Future Now" Honda Dallara was the only one of the four car stable to survive Qualification Day 2.

"The most important thing is that we are in today. It's very difficult to do a one-month program and be competitive since these guys are in the car week in and week out with their engineers and crew. This race is what made me get healthy again and I don't know if I would have had the drive to recover because this race means everything to me."

The team will take advantage of the down time this week to work on new setups and potentially find a little more speed while working on a competitive race day strategy.

"I'm working with a technology company using the "Touch the Future Now" campaign and it only makes sense that we would use technology to deliver our message for our sponsors", said Hamilton. "We'll have audio blogs and text blasts in addition to the traditional press releases that our team is creating for all of our fans."

Along with Davey Hamilton, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing is fielding three other entries in the Indianapolis 500 this year with Mike Conway, John Andretti and Milka Duno.

Davey and the HP Team will be back on track Thursday between 12pm and 6pm EST as they prepare for the 93rd running of the Indy 500.
