Where will 'Hinch land next season?
James Hinchcliffe is sleeping easier now that he knows there is at least one offer on the table for 2014.
There is no word on which team it is, but he told Robin Miller that it’s a great deal that he doesn’t have to bring any money for.
With the rumor circulating that Chip Ganassi will be hiring Tony Kanaan at some point this week, that rules out that team. With Juan Pablo Montoya heading to Penske, that only leaves a couple of teams.
Hinchcliffe is set to lose GoDaddy as his sponsor, who appear to be exiting the sport, so whatever team takes him on has something in line already. "I'll just say it's a good team and it's a pretty damn good deal and I don't have to bring any money, so that was encouraging,” he told Miller. “At least now I'm confident I'm going to be employed next year.”
With a great relationship with Andretti Autosport, it is expected that an offer from them, providing they can find a sponsor in the next couple weeks.
"Michael is having a big meeting with a potential sponsor and I imagine I'll have an offer before Houston," he said. "I've got to weigh my options and make the best decision for my future.”
This leaves KV Racing, Rahal Letterman Lanigan and possibly Dragon Racing as teams with good sponsorship behind them.
