Graham Rahal turns laps at Bristol - Video

IndyCar ace Graham Rahal took to the track for the first time, and acceding to IndyCar.com, suggested a race at the track.

Here's some specutainment to end your Monday post-Le Mans hangover...how about IndyCars at Bristol Motor Speedway?

Can you even wrap your head around that concept?

Not being entirely versed in IndyCar history, I don't know much about the history of short tracks on their schedule in the modern era. I do know they run Richmond and New Hampshire...and have run Dover in the past...but I am not sure if a half-mile has ever been attempted.

With that said, IndyCar.com said in a teaser for Graham Rahal's lap at Bristol that the National Guard driver said an IndyCar race at the venue would be "dizzying" for spectators at drivers but that he would love to see a race there.

From what I have seen, the open wheel cars stopped going to higher banked tighter tracks for safety, but nonetheless it looked like a lot of entertaining racing at Dover. (See videos below.)
