TOYOTA GRAND PRIX OF LONG BEACH TO BE ROUND TWO OF 2009 INDYCAR SERIES

LONG BEACH, Calif. (July 30, 2008) -- The 35th Anniversary Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, set to take place next April 16-19, will be the second round of the 18-race 2009 IndyCar Series in DIRECTV HD season, IndyCar officials announced today.

The IndyCar season will begin in St. Petersburg, Fla. on April 5 and end at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Oct. 11. Of the 18 races, five will be contested on temporary street circuits, three on permanent road courses and 10 on ovals.

"We're very excited about hosting the IndyCar Series here next April as we celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach," said Jim Michaelian, President and CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach. "It will be a great opportunity for our fans to see some of their old favorites like Helio Castroneves, who won here in 2001, plus all the other stars that make up the competitive IndyCar lineup. Combined with our other events, this will provide for a great weekend of racing."

It will be the first race under a new five-year agreement, announced in May, between the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach and the Indy Racing League.

The IndyCar race will run Sunday afternoon, April 19. Also scheduled for next year's Grand Prix weekend is the American Le Mans Series and Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race on Saturday, April 18, and the EZ Lube Team Drift Challenge, Friday through Sunday.

The period for customer renewal of reserved-seat tickets begins Monday, Aug. 4 and continues through Friday, Sept. 26. Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Monday, Oct. 6.

All ticket prices for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach remain unchanged from 2008, ranging from $25 for a Friday General Admission ticket to $125 for a three-day ticket that includes Saturday and Sunday reserved seating in grandstand upper levels. Pre-paid parking packages are also available.

Credit card orders for the 2009 event can be placed by calling the toll-free ticket hotline - (888) 82-SPEED - or online by visiting www.gplb.com. Handicapped seating, IndyCar Paddock Passes, Super Photo tickets and a wide variety of Hospitality Club packages are also available.

A ticket brochure that includes a circuit map, ticket prices and order form can be obtained by calling the hotline.
