KV Racing's Power & Servia Head Practice at Edmonton
KV Racing Technology teammates Will Power and Oriol Servia moved to the top of the time charts in the second of two practice sessions Thursday at the 1.97-mile Edmonton City Centre Airport temporary road circuit, setting the fastest times in preparation for Saturday's Rexall Edmonton Indy.
Team Penske's Helio Castroneves was quickest in the opening practice at 1:02.9327, and improved by four-tenths of a second in the afternoon but still fell to third overall, with teammate Ryan Briscoe fourth. Newman Haas Lanigan Racing's Justin Wilson, who won the Champ Car race here in 2006, rounded out the top five. Sunday's race, IndyCar's second temporary circuit and fourth road-course event this season, starts at 5 p.m. EDT, with live television coverage on ESPN.
Will Power (#8 Aussie Vineyards/KV Racing Honda) quickest in practice today, pole qualifier in 2007 Champ Car race here: "We're still getting used to the setups on this car. They're quite a bit different than on a Champ Car. But, unlike last weekend at Mid-Ohio, we unloaded with a fast car here today and continued to make progress with it. The circuit was definitely dusty this morning, but it's getting quicker and quicker as more rubber gets laid on it. Tomorrow should be faster for us all."
