E.J. VISO TO TEST WITH DREYER & REINBOLD RACING AT SEBRING NEXT WEEK
Indianapolis, IN (December 4, 2009)- As 2010 rapidly approaches, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing is taking every opportunity to ramp up its efforts for the upcoming season. The Indianapolis-based squad will test E.J. Viso next Wednesday, December 9th for one day at Sebring International Raceway.
Next week will serve a number of purposes for DRR as they not only will be testing new data systems and equipment, but this will also give them the opportunity to work with Viso as well.
"This time of year you always explore options, and of course, we are still interested in re-signing our drivers from last year as well. The opportunity to run E.J. in this test is exciting to us. He is a young driver with a lot of talent that we have gotten to know over the last couple of years," commented Dennis Reinbold, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing co-owner.
Joining DRR for the first time will be Venezuelan driver, E.J. Viso. The 24-year-old native of Caracas, Venezuela made his way up the racing ladder starting out in go-karts in Venezuela at age 7 and captured a number of titles before moving up the ranks. In 2001, his first season competing in America, he won the Skip Barber Dodge Eastern Championship, recording 13 victories and 15 pole positions in 16 races. Viso would then move to Europe to further his career. He excelled in European competition by capturing two British Formula 3 (B) championships before moving up to GP2 where he produced several race victories from 2005 to 2008. Viso also served as an F1 test driver with Spyker during this time. In 2008, he made the move to IndyCar recording five top-10 finishes, with a best finish of fourth at St. Petersburg. Viso completed his second season in IndyCar this year with HVM Racing.
"This is a great opportunity to interact with the engineers and other team members. The Dreyer & Reinbold team has a very experienced staff. I have been on the Sebring track in the past. It is a bumpy circuit, but the weather is usually good in December, and I am sure it will be a very positive test. I am very happy to get back in the car, and want to thank the team for this opportunity. I cannot wait to get to the track," stated Viso.
Dreyer & Reinbold Racing will continue preparing for next season and will plan on making further announcements in the coming weeks. Please stay tuned to www.dreyerreinboldracing.com for more updates on the team.
