Conquest Racing Looks Forward To Return To Milwaukee Mile
Conquest Racing returns with the IZOD IndyCar Series to the Milwaukee Mile after the series’ one-year absence from the historic one-mile oval. No. 34 driver Sebastian Saavedra is among 26 entries for the Father's Day weekend Milwaukee 225. The IZOD IndyCar rookie had a podium finish at the track in 2009, finishing third in the IndyLights race.
The Milwaukee Mile is a favorite circuit for both drivers and fans. Because of the paperclip-shaped oval’s flat corners, it drives more like a road course. Drivers aren’t able to go flat out, and the action is exciting with two racing grooves and passing opportunities in both the turns and straightaways. Double-wide restarts will add another element to that mix.
The Milwaukee 225 is the second in three oval races in a row for the series. Conquest Racing was among several teams who took advantage of the private a testing day on the racetrack earlier this month.
Sebastian Saavedra, No. 34 Conquest Racing
“We come back to Milwaukee after a very good test in this track. We are pumped and ready to bring a very good result as we've shown good speed in street courses and this is very much like one. I've had a good race here in 09 with IndyLights and I like this track very much.”
Eric Bachelart, Conquest Racing Team Owner
“We’re happy to be back at the Milwaukee Mile. This track is a different kind of oval. It always produces exciting racing and we are looking forward to a good finish for the No. 34 car.”
