IZOD IndyCar Series - PEAK Antifreeze and Motor Oil Indy 300
Chicagoland Speedway - Joliet, Illinois
August 27-28, 2010 - Round 14 of 17

Race Distance: 300 miles/482.803 kilometers (200 laps around the 1.5-mile/2.414-kilometer superspeedway).

Firestone Firehawk Race Tires Supplied:

* Each entry receives eight sets (32 total tires) for the race weekend; total of 1,020 tires available.

* Firestone's tire specification for Chicagoland was developed from testing at the track in June. It places new, "higher-grip" tread compounds for the right-side tires onto the same right-side tire constructions used this season at Kansas and Texas, and pairs that with the identical left-side tire construction/compound specs used at Kansas. The Firehawk tire specification for this weekend will be run again at Kentucky and Homestead-Miami.

* Tire stagger: A single stagger of about 0.45 of an inch is available. Stagger is the diameter difference between the right rear and left rear tires, with the right rear larger by design to make a racecar naturally want to turn left.

From Al Speyer, Executive Director, Firestone Racing: "We're into the homestretch of the schedule, with four exciting ovals to close the season. Chicagoland has given fans some of the best, closest racing over the years in the IZOD IndyCar Series, and we're looking forward to another thriller - especially with a new Firestone tire specification for the race that was tested and developed at this same track earlier in the summer. These 1.5-mile ovals are always demanding on tires because of the constant high speeds and loads generated, so our engineers and chemists are constantly working to develop the best possible tires for these elite athletes to rely on. We're also pleased to see 29 cars entered for this weekend's IndyCar race, another sign of the series' continuing momentum."

Firestone "Tire-ific" Move of the Race: Following each IZOD IndyCar Series race in 2010, Firestone Racing nominates three drivers who best utilized their Firestone tires to make a bold, dramatic move during the event. Fans can go to www.indycar.com in the days after the race and vote for the nominee they believe made the most "Tire-ific" move of the race, with the top vote-getter earning the honor. The $10,000 prize from last weekend's event at Infineon Raceway goes to Alex Lloyd, for driving from 22nd to finish 10th and increase his lead in the rookie points standings. Lloyd will receive his check in pre-race ceremonies Saturday evening.
