It was a cool and overcast morning for the 30-minute warm-up session for the Molson Indy Vancouver. In this last practice session before the race, the drivers make sure that their cars are working well for this afternoon.
The big excitement for the session occurred about halfway through when Tracy took turn 6 a little wide and hit the left front wheel on the tire wall. This threw the car around and tested the wheel tether. Tracy seemed to be favoring his wrist after the accident. He reported to the medical center and was released as being OK.
Turn 6, particularly its run-off area, was very busy during this session. Nakano, Castroneves and Junqueira were among the drivers who made use of that run-off. Just to be different, Zanardi tried out the run-off area for turn 1.
The fastest drivers in the warm-up were da Matta, Fittipaldi, Wilson, Carpentier, Fernandez and Dixon. The lap times were 1-2 seconds/lap slower than in practice and qualifying.
The race starts at 2pm Pacific Time today.
