Mario Dominguez - Driver, Car 55
"We are struggling a lot today. It's really strange because we've had fairly decent set ups out of the box at virtually every race but today it's like I'm driving on ice. We'll need to sit down with Roberto (Moreno) and his engineers and compare notes. It's a very serious problem right now and I don't know where it's coming from so hopefully we'll find something we can use from the other car. I didn't have any problems with traffic at all; we got clear laps and the times were consistent - just not fast enough."
Roberto Moreno - Driver, Car 4
"I'm very pleased with the development we've done here today. We based our starting point on our Toronto setup and the car has handled quite well. It still needs to be a bit better on the long runs but it is pretty good so far. It's unfortunate that we got that misfire toward the end of qualifying - the track gets a lot faster in the final few minutes and I think I had more still to get out of it. But overall, I'm very pleased with our performance so far."
1. Moreno's sixth place provisional qualifying position is his best of the season.
2. Moreno has five previous starts at Vancouver including a victory at his last attempt (2001).
3. Dominguez has one Champ Car start at Vancouver (2002; start 17th, finish 10th), and two additional starts while in the now-defunct Dayton Indy Lights series (1998; start 19th, finish 14th and 2001; start 6th, finish 5th).
4. At least one Herdez Competition driver has placed in the top ten in each of the first ten events (including five top-fives), setting a new team mark.
