Vasser to start 13th, gearbox failure leaves Hunter-Reay 16th.
JIMMY VASSER, #12 American Spirit/Ford-Reynard/Cosworth
Vasser on Qualifying: "I had a couple of extra tenths in the bag and I was pushing too hard to make a move out of it and I threw it away. It would have been good enough for ninth or tenth easily, maybe even eighth. It has been a tough weekend for us, we got behind when we missed a session making changes on Friday and I think we're still trying to catch up. We have two strategy meetings coming up before our race tomorrow, so we'll work up something special for the race."
RYAN HUNTER-REAY, #31 American Spirit/Ford-Reynard/Cosworth
Hunter-Reay on Qualifying: "The car was a little better balance-wise. We're still not there with the set-up. I had a gearbox failure on my fastest lap and had to limp around in fourth gear, but still managed to meet my time from yesterday. So if we just could have finished the session, I think we could have been 12th at least."
Stefan Johansson, Team Owner: "It's obviously been a disappointing weekend for us; we are struggling to get the balance on both of our cars. We're a bit puzzled because we made so much progress at Toronto, Jimmy set the second fastest race lap there, but it hasn't helped us here at all. We have made some gains, Jimmy and Ryan race hard tomorrow, pit strategy is going to be very important."
