Cart president Andrew Craig says the disagreement between CART and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway president comes down to one issue. "Its not cost, or race venues. It is us vs. USAC for the sport's control.

"What's being proposed by Tony is that he run our series, and he doesn't have the right. The owners are not interested in Tony's series."

Craig says he supports rules stability and also would like to have a technical committee established separate from the CART board. But if things come down to a marketing war between two Indycar series, CART will win. "I think I have more experience in sports marketing than anybody here."
