HOUSTON - Street courses have been pretty kind to driver Luiz Garcia Jr. and the Project Racing Group (P.R.G.) this season, but today was an exception.

The second-year CART driver, originally from Brasilia, Brazil, but who now makes his home in Aventura, Fla., could not match nor surpass his morning time. The Brazilian will start the race with his best time of 63.019 seconds (87.231 mph), just a few ticks off his morning pace.

Garcia, ever the optimist, says tomorrow will be a better day for him and Team P.R.G. as he has run well on the street courses this season.

Sunday's race begins at 3 p.m. Central Time.

"What can I really say about today? It was not a good day for us. The track is to my liking, and there are no major dilemmas, I just couldn't get the speed up to do some decent lap times. I don't know what it is. I'm optimistic though that we can have a great race for tomorrow." - Luiz Garcia Jr., Driver
