VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA (September 2, 2000) -- It's an all Team KOOL Green front row -- the first in the team's history -- for tomorrow's Molson Indy Vancouver, as TKG teammates Dario Franchitti & Paul Tracy set the first and second fastest times in final qualifying on the city streets of Vancouver today.

Franchitti, who was fastest in every session this weekend, covered the 1.781-mile temporary street circuit in a time of 1 minute, .405 seconds -- an average speed of 106.144 mph. The lap establishes a track record and marks the second consecutive pole and track record for Franchitti, following a similar effort two weeks ago at Road America. For earning today's pole, Franchitti received the Greg Moore Pole Award, named in honor of the late Greg Moore, who grew up in the Vancouver area and was Franchitti's closest friend in the series.

Tracy's best lap today fell just 88/1000ths of a second short of Franchitti's time, as he clocked a lap of 1 minute, .493 seconds for an average speed of 105.989, which was also under the previous track record.

Tomorrow's 90-lap race takes the green flag at 1:00 p.m. (Pacific Daylight Time) and will be televised live by ABC.

PAUL TRACY, #26 TEAM KOOL GREEN HONDA/REYNARD:
(2nd with a lap-time of 1:00.493 seconds / 105.989 mph)

"My fast lap was actually just a warm up lap; my tires were still coming up to temperature. My next lap was going really well, then the red came out. So I was a little bit disappointed because I think there was more there. When we went back out with two minutes to go I just couldn't get the tires up to temperature and I was really overdriving the car, so I just decided to come in. I'm really happy with the job that Team KOOL Green did this weekend. Everyone is working really smart and hard this weekend. I've got to say I really like our chances tomorrow. Dario and I are right there, we don't have to pass guys to move up and we've got a great pit crew, so I think we're in a good position to finish well and that's what we want to focus on."

DARIO FRANCHITTI, #27 TEAM KOOL GREEN HONDA/REYNARD:
(1st with a lap-time of 1:00.405 seconds / 106.144 mph)

"I really wanted this Greg Moore Pole Award trophy. Greg's mom, Donna, told me on Thursday night, 'I want to present you with the trophy.' I said, 'why don't you.' I was pushing hard the whole weekend; I really wanted this. The car was very good today and I know we'll have a good race car for tomorrow. This weekend has been just a great team effort by everyone at Team KOOL Green. All of the guys have done a fantastic job since the car rolled off the transporter. It's really been fast. But it's going to take a perfect race tomorrow -- no mistakes, be faster than everyone else and excellent pit stops. Both Team KOOL Green cars are really quick, so Paul and I will keep pushing tomorrow. We'll keep our fingers crossed that we can finish and we'll see what happens from there."
