March 14 - Team KOOL Green drivers Dario Franchitti of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Paul Tracy of Parker, Ariz., fought handling problems to qualify for the 13th and 21st positions for tomorrow's Grand Prix of Miami at 1:30 p.m. ET. Franchitti's four qualifying laps around the 1.5-mile oval produced a quick time of 25.418 seconds at 212.731 mph. Meanwhile, Tracy could not find the right setup for the session as he fought a push during his four-lap run. Tracy's time was 26.160 seconds at 206.697 mph. Both drivers remain optimistic about their chances for tomorrow's 150-lap race. Tracy has run as quick as 25.8s in testing at Homestead and he was last year's runner-up behind Michael Andretti in the race. Franchitti, on the other hand, continues to grow more comfortable and faster each time on track. Paul Tracy, #26 Team KOOL Green "We've still got the same problem (understeer). This is only the first of 19 races so we'll just try to finish the race and get some points if we can. I put Dario's setup on my car in the last session and it did no good. We've had 3 different cars here for testing and we've had the same problem-as soon as the rear tires heat up we get a big push." Dario Franchitti, #27 Team KOOL Green We've made a lot of progress this weekend; the car is very good. We need more revs. We're undergeared a little. We didn't take advantage of the power Honda has provided. Not to worry, tomorrow is what it is all about. We'll try some full tank runs in the morning warm up. PPG-DAYTON INDY LIGHTS CHAMPIONSHIP HOMESTEAD QUALIFYING Naoki Hattori - Team KOOL Green #27 10th, 30.312 seconds, 178.386 mph "We made many changes to our set-up last night and the car was much better today. It had much better balance in practice. "In qualifying I had some understeer and couldn't take Turn Two flat. I had taken it flat in the morning practice session but I think maybe the wind affected my car for qualifying." NOTE: The PPG-Dayton Indy Lights race begins at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow, before the 150-lap CART FedEx Championship Series race at 1:30 p.m. ET.
