Team KOOL Green drivers Paul Tracy and Dario Franchitti, along with the rest of the CART FedEx Championship Series field, will be making their Champ Car debut in Great Britain with the running of the Rockingham 500 this Saturday at 1.5-mile oval at Rockingham Motor Speedway.

PAUL TRACY
(Inaugural race at Rockingham Motor Speedway; currently 11th in the standings with 68 points)

"I haven't run in the United Kingdom in a long time but I remember the fans know a lot about racing and I'm looking forward to putting on a show for them. All of us at Team KOOL Green have been working hard and trying to cope. I know the #26 crew is as dedicated as I am to getting a win in England."

DARIO FRANCHITTI
(Inaugural race at Rockingham Motor Speedway; currently 6th in the standings with 85 points)

"We're all really just trying to deal with the recent tragic events on both sides of the Atlantic. But Team KOOL Green is a tight group and we'll work together to overcome our challenges. We still have a shot at the championship and I know the #27 crew will give me the car I need to run up front in my home country."

TEAM KOOL GREEN NOTEBOOK

- Up until this weekend, Team KOOL Green driver Dario Franchitti could never claim any event on the CART FedEx Championship schedule as his home race. This changes at Rockingham, where Franchitti, a native of Edinburgh, Scotland heads into the U.K. as the hometown favorite. While tragic events in the United States last week and the injuries sustained by his friend Alex Zanardi may have tempered his enthusiasm, Franchitti understands the task at hand and hopes to provide British race fans with a weekend to cheer about. Franchitti has already visited the Rockingham facility and, after powering a Honda street car around the 1.5 mile oval track in March, noted that the track offered plenty of opportunity for overtaking.

-Rockingham Motor Speedway is the first purpose-designed motor racing venue to be built in Great Britain since Brooklands in 1907. The new complex cost approximately £50 million (U.S. $73 million) and is located at Corby in Northamptonshire. Centrally positioned in Britain, in an area known as the "golden triangle," Rockingham is situated among the A1, M1 and the A14 east-west routes and is 90 miles northwest of London's Buckingham Palace. Approximately 31 million people live within a 100-mile radius of the track. In addition to a range of different length road course configurations, the track features a 4-turn, 1.5-mile high-speed oval, which is banked at 7.9 degrees. Rockingham Motor Speedway is also considered an all-seater facility and allows fans the opportunity to view at least 85% of the oval from the grandstands.

- Set in the heart of the English Shires, Corby is surrounded by fascinating stately homes and castles including Althorp House, family home and final resting place of the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Corby is also located a mere 38 miles from Silverstone, home of Britain's Formula One race.
