BOTH HERDEZ DRIVERS RETIRE IN MID-OHIO

Both Herdez-backed drivers: Michel Jourdain Jr. & Memo Gidley were forced to retire due to mechanical failures during the Miller Lite 200 race. Jourdain Jr. completed 54 laps to be placed in the 26 spot and Memo Gidley went farther, completing 69 before an engine problem ended in a fire.

Michel Jourdain Jr., Car #19 Herdez/Payton-Coyne Racing Team: "I was experiencing problems with the pick up of the fuel. That's why I had to frequently visit the boxes and I was running out of the sequence in the pit stops. Then, my gearbox expired and I was forced to retire on Turn 8."

Memo Gidley, Car #71 Herdez/Payton-Coyne Racing Team: "The car was caught in a little fire due to an engine problem and I had to park my car in Turn 7. That was frustrating, since we were gaining positions consistently."
