Tony Kanaan, ...
Tony Kanaan, #21 LCI Reynard-Honda:
"The car was good. I made a big mistake on my fastest lap in the last corner. I had (Dennis) Vitolo ahead of me and I touched the curb too much and I lost a lot of speed there. It was probably a couple of tenths that I lost. It's still top six though. If I look back at the last weekend, this is much better so I am happy. The team did a pretty good job and I just made a little mistake. It can happen. I'm upset with myself. It's a long race so top six is wonderful."
DARE CLAIMS HIS FIRST CAREER POLE
Airton Dare, #1 Banestado/LCI Lola:
"I don't know what to say. I am very excited. This is my first pole ever. We came here with a very good setup and we have been running strong all weekend. I feel more comfortable on this type of track compared to the ovals. It is great to be the fastest in qualifying, but now I need to start thinking about the race tomorrow. We don't want to make a mistake and take each other out."
Cristiano da Matta, #2 Medley/LCI Lola:
"The car is good. I am happy with second. Of course, the pole is what everyone wants but only one can get. Airton and I need to work on our strategy for tomorrow and the start of the race. The only team order is not to take each other out."
