Spreading the Spirit: American Spirit Team Johansson will distribute 2000 American flags to the fans sitting at the start finish line Sunday. As the pace car rolls, spread the spirit.
Diversified Talents: Vasser realized a life-long dream last weekend when he competed at Daytona in the NASCAR Busch series race. Proving Champ Car drivers are some of the most diversified in the world, Vasser was quick all month in testing and he qualified a very impressive fifth in his first Busch event. The race was looking good, he was running strong in the top ten before a multi-car accident ended his day. In addition to his full-time assault on the 2003 CART Championship, Vasser will continue to compete with Braun Racing in the Busch Series. The number and location of events is still undecided.
Vasser on St. Petersburg: "St. Pete is the perfect place to kick off the 2003 season; it is a great setting and has a strong foundation for a successful future in racing. As for our team, we need to focus on reliability. I have no doubt that if we run to the end, problem-free, we will fight for a trophy. We are a new team, but Stefan has done a great job at finding some of the best people in the business. There is a ton of experience here; in fact most of us have worked together before at one place or another. I have never seen such a high level of energy and excitement; this is a very experienced and determined group."
