INDIANAPOLIS (December 13, 2002) - Following the conclusion of SPEED Channel's first year as a broadcast partner of Championship Auto Racing Teams Inc., the cable network will wrap up the season with a pair of shows next week celebrating the achievements and discussing the happenings of the 2002 campaign.
The hour-long CART Year-in-Racing show will premiere on Wednesday, December 18 at 9 p.m. Eastern Time and will feature highlights, interviews and analysis of the 2002 CART FedEx Championship Series season. The 30-minute CART round-table discussion show will premier on Friday, December 20 at 7 p.m. and will feature SPEED Channel's CART broadcast team of Bob Varsha, Tommy Kendall, Scott Pruett, Derek Daly and Calvin Fish. The shows will also be rebroadcast at various times throughout the months of December and January leading into the 2003 Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford.
The CART season-ending shows come on the heels of a very-successful CART Thanksgiving Marathon on SPEED Channel where replays of 2002 CART events were shown in their entirety on Thursday and Friday of Thanksgiving weekend.
