The Rookie Points Battle: Former Indy 500 winner Kenny Brack wrapped up the rookie of the year points battle, but Servià is still looking to secure 2nd place in the championship. Servià sits 15 points ahead of Alex Tagliani who is ranked third.

The Tourist: Since arriving in Surfers Paradise, Servià has taken advantage of the local amenities with his fellow Champ Car drivers. Servià has spent the last three days jet-skiing, bungee jumping, snorkeling, and served as a judge at the local Miss Indy contest.

Top Ten Finisher: Servià started 15th in Houston, and recorded his ninth top ten finish of the season. Six of those top ten's have come on road courses.

Servià on Surfers:
"This will be my first time at Surfers, and from what I hear, it is everyone's favorite place! I have been studying the tapes, and the track looks like a lot of fun to drive. I am anticipating a very good car there, as our cars tend to suit these types of circuits very well. Our strongest performances this year have been on street circuits, and it would be great to finish on the podium in Australia. That is our goal, and we must meet it."

CRISTIANO da MATTA , #97 PIONEER ELECTRONICS/WORLDCOM/TOYOTA-REYNARD

Driver by Day, Musician by Night: Da Matta will perform at this year's Runway Madness, on Friday, October 27th. An avid guitar enthusiast, da Matta will play with "The Paladians" at the charity benefit.

Perfect Pit Stops: The #97 Pioneer Electronics/WorldCom Champ Car team is currently ranked fifth in the Craftsmen Pit Crew Challenge. The top four teams will compete for $50,000 in a 30 minute pit stop competition in Fontana.

Last Year at Surfers: Da Matta qualified tenth in his rookie attempt at Surfers, and was running as high as seventh, before losing his gearbox on lap 63. The rookie set the 13th fastest lap of the race.

Cristiano on Surfers: "I am really looking forward to getting back to Surfers. We did well here last year with both cars, so it is always nice to return to somewhere you have been successful in the past. Our car should be very good on this circuit. With the exception of Houston, we have done well on the street circuits, and the car has been very good. We will qualify in the fast group, which should help us out. I have spent the last couple of days on holiday, which has been great. The time on the beach has been very relaxing, I really enjoy the Gold Coast."
