BJORN WIRDHEIM, #4 HVM/Lola/Ford-Cosworth/Bridgestone
Bjorn on the Day: "It was a good day for us today. We were ninth quick this morning. The circuit was still improving quite a bit this afternoon when we took new tires and I brushed the wall. I had just set my fastest time and I definitely had more in the car. Unfortunately we had to bring the car back to the garage half way through the session to make sure nothing was wrong with it, but we still managed to have the 11th quickest lap time despite losing so much track time. I am happy with the car and I am really looking forward to getting back out there tomorrow. We certainly have a good enough setup to qualify well. I do hope they adjust the track at the pit exit and open up the quick chicane, I think it needs to be safer."
Rodolfo Lavin, #55 HVM/Lola/Ford-Cosworth/Bridgestone
Rodolfo on Practice:"I am very happy with the car and with the team. They have given me a warm welcome and I am very happy to be here. I have a good car, it feels very good and we were two .02 quicker on the final lap. My engineer (Michael Cannon) and I discussed it; I really think we can be in the top six. The set-up is very good, we might need a couple of slight changes and that would be it. The circuit is a lot of fun, especially turns one and two. It is pretty challenging to take them flat, but once you do, you've got it and it is a great challenge and a lot of fun."
Keith Wiggins, Owner and Managing Director:"I think Rodolfo did a good job getting up to speed quickly and Bjorn looks like he has this track down so I am expecting good results tomorrow. Both drivers seem quite positive and the event has fantastic support, the kinks are getting worked out and this event is off to a fantastic start."
