Pacificare Driver Junqueira Third in Provisional Qualifying at Champ Car Grand Prix Of Road America After Losing Fastest Lap; Mcdonald's Driver Bourdais Fourth

Bruno Junqueira, No. 6 PacifiCare Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone:

"It was difficult; we were really struggling with problems in my gearbox. On the first set of tires I was trying to down shift, and it was not working correctly for me. I went off in the grass and continued. On the second set, I was still having problems down shifting, I was pushing really hard and just spun. It is frustrating to lose my fastest lap, and it was a shame that I spun because I think that lap was going to be even faster. We have to improve the car, it doesn't feel as good as it did last year. The PacifiCare team did a good job today and we will work hard to get a better car for tomorrow."

* FAST FACTS: Will be his fourth race here... In three previous races here, he has won two (2003 & 2001) and finished third in the other (2002). Started 10th and won in his first race here in 2001. Started from pole in 2002 but finished third in 2002 after a slow final pit stop. Also set the fastest race lap. Earned his first of two wins in 2003 here as well as the maximum points 0x2022 23 0x2022 after he was the provisional pole sitter, pole sitter, led the most laps in the race and won...Is second in the point standings with 159.

Sebastien Bourdais, No. 2 McDonald's Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone:

"It was a non-day for the McDonald's team but we're going to work hard to get back up front. We had an engine problem this morning which set us back a little. We didn't get as many laps as we wanted in qualifying; the red flags hurt us. The car was good enough to be on pole but today things didn't go our way. The car is good, we will try again for pole tomorrow."

* FAST FACTS: Will be his second race here...Started second and finished second to teammate Junqueira last year...Has won four races this season and three poles...Leads the point standings with 186.
