RHR Scores Provisional Pole at Road America
Herdez Competition's Wisconsin Success Continues at Road America

Ryan Hunter-Reay earned the provisional pole today, scoring one championship point and securing a front row start for Sunday's Grand Prix of Road America. Mario Dominguez was tenth quick, but completed only five laps in the red flag plagued qualifying session. Both drivers are confident the have more speed in their cars and intend to show that tomorrow in final qualifying.

Mario Dominguez, #55 Herdez/Lola/ Ford-Cosworth

Mario on the qualifying: "We've been working to get the car better and we did make improvements but we have had a few technical difficulties today. At least Ryan got the provisional pole, which was good for him and for the team. So, we'll just work hard for tomorrow and make sure the car is ok. Bridgestone has created a very good compound for Road America, the tires have been fantastic at this high-speed track."

Ryan Hunter-Reay, #4 Herdez/Lola/Ford-Cosworth

Ryan on the qualifying: "The day started out tough, we had a radio issue and a pit lane speed limiter issue; we didn't run many laps in practice. Then, in the 15-minute warm up, my car was better but still had a few handling issues. My crew did a great job getting the changes done and my car was much better for qualifying. There is more in the car for tomorrow and I am sure we will find it. The result is just great and the best part is that we have a guaranteed front row starting position, which is obviously very important. My team has done a great job and Wisconsin has been very good to us. I can't tell you how rewarding it feels when you get it right on a track like this. With the long straights and high-speed corners, it is tough to get it right and it is easy to get greedy. This is a rewarding place and I am very happy to be sitting here."

Keith Wiggins, Co-Owner/Managing Director: "I am very happy that Ryan repeated the performance he gave here in testing. Now, it's just a matter of getting a good result. Obviously since Milwaukee we've been expecting more than we've had recently as a team. Hopefully we will continue the weekend as we did in Milwaukee."
