Justin will line up on the second row for Sunday's Grand Prix of Portland after setting the 4th fastest time in final qualifying with a 57.818 (122.287 mph). Justin's RuSPORT team-mate Cristiano da Matta was 5th fastest (58.018), while Bruno Junqueira took pole for Newman-Haas with a 57.631. After a disappointing first qualifying session on Friday, Justin and the #9 CDW team made significant improvements overnight to the car's handling and they're hopeful of extracting further pace from the car in the final warm-up session. Unusually for Champ Car this will take place late on Saturday afternoon because of local noise regulations.

"Today was a lot better than yesterday", commented Justin. "The balance of the car is much closer to what we need, so we've made progress. I think we've got a reasonable starting position. We still need a little bit more rear stability, but the #9 CDW team is working hard and I'm sure we'll work it out."
