HVM Rookies Score Double Top-Ten Result

BJORN WIRDHEIM, #4 HVM/Lola/Ford-Cosworth/Bridgestone

Bjorn on the Race:"We knew this morning that our race pace would be very good. I had a good start and went outside the first chicane and picked up several positions. I was going for two more positions and using my power-to-pass and the pitlane speed limiter kicked in. I did it again to make sure I pushed the correct button and the same thing happened. That is when I realized the power-to-pass button was programmed the same as the pitlane speed limiter. I radioed the team and after a couple of laps, radioed me back and told me the problem was resolved, so I worked as hard as I could to get the positions back that I lost initially, and then of course to move toward the front. We had the pace to run with the leaders and I am disappointed with the way it turned out because we had the pace to finish in the top-six. I was quite a lot quicker than everyone I overtook so it was just a matter of getting up front. My pit-crew did a fantastic job today."

RONNIE BREMER, #55 HVM/Lola/Ford-Cosworth/Bridgestone

Ronnie on the Race:"It was definitely the most physically demanding race I have ever run. I was very sore before the race from my accident yesterday and typically during the race your adrenaline kicks in, so you don't feel the pain too much. That wasn't the case today; the pain in my chest from the seatbelts from my accident yesterday made it a very challenging and exhausting race for me. It was the longest race of my life, like getting beat up for two hours. My team played a huge role in getting my through, they were on the radio almost every lap, supporting me and encouraging me. The biggest problem was in the breaking zones, that is where the pressure made the pain especially intense. For this reason, I am happy to score a top-ten finish. The car was good; I don't think I was able to get everything out of it today because of my situation. The Glycomax energy drink made a big difference for me today. I am a little disappointed because I think we could have done a better job today if I was not injured, but we still walked away with some very valuable points and I will be ready for Cleveland. Big thanks to the Champ Car medical team, they took good care of me all weekend, it's great to know they're there."
