Champ Car World Series
Mazda Grand Prix of Portland Presented by Joe's Sports and Outdoor

Portland International Raceway, Portland, Ore. June 8-10, 2007 - Round 4 of 16

Race Details: Timed event - 1 hour, 45 minutes. Track distance is 1.964 miles (3.16 km).

Television Broadcast: Live - Sunday, June 10, at 4 p.m. EDT on ABC.

Bridgestone Potenza Tires Supplied:

* 546 primary (black-sidewall) dry-condition slicks; 184 alternate (red-sidewall) dry slicks; and 308 wet-condition (rain) tires.

* Each car receives seven sets of primary tires, two sets of alternates and four sets of rain tires for the race weekend.

* In a normal dry-condition race, each car must use at least one set of primary and one set of alternate Potenzas. The primary and alternate tires' construction is identical, but the alternates possess a tread compound with better grip ("softer"), making them faster but possibly not quite as durable.

* Bridgestone Motorsport engineers elected to bring the same specification of Potenza primary, alternate and wet condition tires that were brought here last year. The tires represent the highest-grip Potenzas available in each category of the current Bridgestone road-course lineup.

From Al Speyer, Executive Director, Bridgestone Motorsport: "Bridgestone Motorsport is looking forward to getting back on the road with our annual visit to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. You never quite know what to expect from this event - it can be hot, cool, rainy or sunny, and sometimes all in the same day! Last year's race ran with no caution flags, putting the primary and alternate tires through full stints. They performed admirably, so we have decided to bring the same specs again this year. No matter what the weather or the race brings, we are confident that the standard and alternate Bridgestone Potenzas, and even the rains if circumstances require, will stand up to the unique challenges PIR offers."
