According to the Associate Press, on Tuesday July 5,1994, Tony George named Jerome Hauer as the person in charge of "developing an organization to manage, direct and promote" a new series for Indy cars.

Mr. Hauer begins his new job on August 1, 1994. the new series is expected to begin in 1996. He had been director of the Indiana Emergency Management Agency.

There are been no dates or sites announced for the new series according to the AP.
