With less than 20 laps to go the race is between rookie Scott Dixon and sophmore driver Kenny Brack. Fuel does not seem to be a concern, though reports suggest Dixon may be running on fumes at the end.

Kanaan pits on lap 191, giving the lead to Scott Dixon, with Kenny Brack in second. They are followed by Tracy, Vasser, and Fittipaldi.

Nakano pits for fuel, this puts Dixon in to second and Brack in to third. Will Kanaan be in soon?

Brack is making a move the front, he is up to fourth. Dixon is in third. Both Kanaan and Nakano, may have to pit before the end of the race

Shinji Nakano is challenging Kanaan for the lead, with Tracy directly behind them.

Nakano has only made one pitstop.

Dr. Olvey reports that both Tagliani, and de Ferran sustained no injuries in their incident. Both are receiving treatment to reduce any possible soreness. De Ferran is scheulded to test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway later today.

After the lastest round of pitstops the running order is:

Kannan, Franchitti, Nakano, Tracy, Dixon, Vasser, Fittipaldi, Jourdain, Junqueira, Brack, Servia, da Matta.

Tagliani has been taken to the CART medical center, we await word on his condition.

On the return to green flag racing, Tagliani and de Ferran tangle in turn 4. Both crash in to the wall. De Ferran is out of the car. Tagliani is being assisted by the CART safety team.

The cars that did not pit previously now pit.

It is early for second round pitstops, but 13 cars pit. Will they try to run 109 laps to the finish?

On lap 113 the caution flies for a spin by Takagi. He regains control with out hitting anything.

Papis is out of the race. The cable to the gear box broke on the car.

The running order after pitstops is:

Brack, Servia, da Matta, Fernandez, Castroneves, Kannan.

Junqueira over shot his pits, had to be pushed back to get service. He is now in 11th place.

Max Papis's car only has sixth gear. Team Rahal is attempting to repair it.

On Lap 73, Jourdain spins, but regains control and keeps running. Caution is out. Pitstops should begin in a lap.

Carpentier's engine goes away and he is out of the race on lap 32.

Note: the backstretch at Nazareth, is banked at 6 degrees, the same as the apron at Texas Motor Speedway.

After 20 laps the running order is: Brack, Servia, Junqueira, Jourdain,Fernandez.

The race is underway at Nazareth. The opening lap is not without trouble as Bryan Herta spins as he crosses the start/finish line. It appears he was forced to the inside by the car of da Matta. Herta is back out but a lap down. On the restart, Castroneves picks up the throttle too quickly and he gets sideways but retains control. The yellow once again flies.
