Rodolfo Lavin (R), #5 Corona Competition Team Ford-Cosworth XFE-Reynard-Bridgestone
Provisional Qualifying: 17th 83.337 (117.024 mph)
"The Corona car is much better this afternoon than it was in practice this morning. We found a lot of time in the front of the car. I believe my time is up a couple seconds from this morning, and the track is coming in as well. The Corona car is improving and I'm also looking at what I can do in my driving to make the car go quicker. I'm still battling quite a bit of understeer which we'll work on tonight so that hopefully we can do a better job in qualifying tomorrow."
Fast Facts: Will mark his 14th Champ Car start, Will mark his first Champ Car start at Montreal, Has two previous starts at Montreal contesting Toyota Atlantics (2001 & 2002)
Darren Manning, (R), #15 RAC Walker Racing Ford-Cosworth XFE-Reynard-Bridgestone
Provisional Qualifying: 6th 81.833 (119.174 mph)
"The RAC Walker Racing car has been very good all day. We learned a lot in Mid-Ohio, basically what not to do, but it helped us pick a set-up for Montreal that is working well for us. I think we're in pretty good shape. We're not that far off (the pace) from the guys in front of us. It's a modern-day course so it's quite smooth which is good for us as we can run the car quite low here. We have a few minor improvements to make, but we haven't got much to do to find some places on the grid."
