Today was an exciting day for the RuSPORT team. During the morning practice, the #9 CDW car suffered from a mechanical issue that cost them the majority of the session. Fortunately, Allmendinger in the#10 Western Union car was able to make gains this morning that benefited both cars for the final qualifying session. The RuSPORT cars traded positions in the top three with eventual pole sitter Sebastien Bourdais for most of the 35 minute qualifying session.
In the closing minute of the session, Oriol Servia put together a quick lap and was able to jump into second place ahead of both Wilson and Allmendinger. For tomorrow's 79 lap event, Wilson will start third in the #9 CDW car, while Allmendinger will start fourth in the #10 Western Union car.
"I think qualifying was pretty good today. We went out slightly earlier than some people and got a good time in so I was quite pleased with that effort. We slowly started to slip back down the order which is a normal situation as qualifying works out since people get quicker towards the end. We had lost quite a bit of time this morning with a mechanical issue but part of the benefit of being in a good, strong team is being able to pull each others information. I am pleased CDW is back on the car to bring us good luck again. For the race, we need to be smart and make sure we have a good first lap and see how the race pans out. It's going to be a very long, tough race and anything can happen. I think we can be strong and get the CDW car on the podium again."
"Today was a good effort by the whole team. We started off pretty bad yesterday and didn't even get in a qualifying run so we've made major improvements today. Overall, I think today was a great effort. I'm just a little frustrated with myself because I was on a good lap and made a mistake which I'm sure cost me a little. It's a long race and this track is one of my favourites. It's definitely a good place for me and I've done well here in Barber Dodge and Toyota Atlantic so we'll see what happens tomorrow."

"Today was another example of a great team with great drivers. They figured things out overnight and came back strong today. To be third and fourth with a good gap from the field is nice but we still have a gap to close with the Newman/Haas cars. We're in good company and it is nice to see the CDW and Western Union cars in the second row for tomorrow. We think we have a good race strategy. We think we have good car speed and I know we have a great pit crew- we are ready to go to war tomorrow."
