After what looked like it shot at another top 10 finish, the Fittipaldi-Dingman Racing team had to leave Montreal disappointed when rookie driver Tiago Monteiro locked his brakes 2/3 of the way through the race, crashing into American Spirit Team Johansson driver Ryan Hunter-Reay and ending the day.

"I'm really sorry for the guys," Monteiro said. "We had such an up and down weekend. We had a lot of problems even though we were doing well time wise. We were quick all the way; so far it was a good race. I was on cold tires and locked the rears and drove into (Ryan) Hunter-Reay who I'd like to say I'm sorry to as well. This is not the way I planned to finish this weekend, but we'll work on that."

Team owner Emerson Fittipaldi was also disappointed. "I was sure we could finish well here," he said. "I think this was a good circuit for Tiago. It's a shame for the team and for our sponsors. Hopefully we'll do better next week in Denver."

The series now heads to Denver for the Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver next weekend.
