Justin qualifies 2nd at Monterrey

After his 3rd place in Friday's provisional qualifying Justin continued to make progress, garnering his first front row start of the 2005 Champ Car World Series season. He battled at the top of the time charts, even holding the coveted pole position several times during final qualifying for the Tecate Telmex Monterrey Grand Prix. Today's run to 2nd spot equals Justin's best Champ Car qualifying effort. The #9 RuSPORT crew is now aiming for a podium finish tomorrow.

Justin's looking forward to the race and planning ahead for the high temperatures forecast for Sunday. "I'm pretty pleased with the result today. We were right there making a serious challenge for the pole and for the top spots. Both RuSPORT cars were fast and we had them both on the right track. If we hadn't had the penalty on A.J.'s car, we would have had a better team showing than Newman-Haas. It's a really good feeling to see the results of the work we've been doing. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's race. My real concern is going to be staying hydrated because it's supposed to be even hotter. That's really going to weigh on the drivers' performance, so it's an issue I'm going to pay close attention to. Other than that, the #9 RuSPORT car is ready."
