FINAL QUALIFYING QUOTES CHAMP CAR MONT-TREMBLANT

Tristan Gommendy #22 Pay By Touch-Megaspiera Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone (Qualified 1st)

"I wanted to go out, but the team didn't want to. For sure it was because of the risk for the car. We had a big problem with the engine this morning, so we stayed in the pits. It was not my decision. It wasn't necessary for the pole. I had an easy day today."

Will Power #5 Aussie Vineyards Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone (Qualified 2nd)

"I knew the last lap would be the quickest. Every lap before that was just trying things. I just put a whole lap together at the end there. We really need to start on the front row this weekend because we had such a bad weekend last weekend, and also at Portland not such a good one. We're really after a win."

Sebastien Bourdais #1 McDonalds Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone (Qualified 3rd)

"I think the rain might have actually been a good thing with the gearbox issue, because had it not been raining and been quicker in this session, we would have lost a lot of positions and probably started very far back in the pack. So, you know, the conditions might actually have helped us in the problem that we encountered because, you know, the failure on the gearbox would have happened just the same under the dry - maybe even quicker. Might have been a little lucky in our bad luck."

Justin Wilson #9 CDW Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone (Qualified 4th)

"We just missed out this afternoon. The track was getting quicker and quicker as it began to dry after the brief rain at the start of the qualifying session, and I could feel that we were getting faster each lap we did in the #9 CDW car, but it just was not enough to get us up there. It is a shame, because I thought that we had one of the quickest cars in the final qualifying session. The race should be interesting, it is going to depend on the weather to see just how crazy it might get. I think that we have a car that we can be competitive in, so I just am just looking forward to having a good race and getting the #9 CDW car back on the podium."

Simon Pagenaud #15 Aussie Vineyards Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone (Qualified 7th)

"It was an unfortunate situation for us today. On the dry part of the track the car felt exactly the way I needed, so it added a little bit more pressure and a little more frustration at the end because the car was great. We were up on the last, great lap and I knew I could do it, but we had rain in the last sector and unfortunately I lost it in some of the corners because it was wet and I couldn't make it at the end. We did a good job. The only frustration is that we start P7 and I don't think that's our position this weekend, because Team Australia has been doing a great job and we were up there all weekend, but unfortunately in the last qualifying session we were not able to close the deal. There are those weekends that things won't go your way, we will see tomorrow and we will do the best race that we can."

Alex Tagliani #8 Tide@Walmart Victory Lap Charity Program Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone (Qualified 8th)

"We had a possibility of doing very well today in the #8 Tide@Wal-Mart Victory Lap Charity Program car, but unfortunately we did not give ourselves enough time to do it this afternoon in qualifying. It is disappointing because we only did four laps on the Bridgestone Potenza slick tires, while most of the guys did six or seven on slicks. I think that we had a car that was good enough to be on the pole today. Since we weren't able to improve our position on the grid, then we are going to have to do it tomorrow during the race."

Graham Rahal #2 Medi|Zone Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone (Qualified 9th)

"It was a difficult session due to the weather. You can only run 15 laps so you didn't want to go out on rain tires too early in case the track dried and you were already out of laps. We fell just short again but the car felt close on rain tires and pretty close on dry tires. It's like Portland all over where on the first day we weren't competitive and on the second day we were much better but yet again we don't get to show it. The car feels good and I think we can march through the field if the passing opportunities present themselves. The conditions could be just like they were today, tomorrow so it was good to get some information in case. For me its good to know how quickly the track will dry. The guys asked me if I thought the track was going to dry and I said 'No way.' Suddenly it was dry though. If we race in these conditions tomorrow I think the Medi | Zone team will be pretty solid. A standing start in the rain would be tricky. It's going to be tough to pass in the race. You are going to have to have someone mess up to have an opportunity to pass. The Medi | Zone guys will give me great stops and we could try to pick up some positions in the pits as well."

Paul Tracy #3 INDECK Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone (Qualified 11th)

"We timed it perfectly and we were going to get our last lap in at the right time but Katherine (Legge) spun in front of me coming into the chicane and I had to go straight to avoid her so that was it, we were quickest and dropped like a brick because everybody was closing laps at that time when the track was drying. This is completely frustrating for the whole team, yesterday we struggled but this morning we improved the car a bit, when we went out right before qualifying the car was way better. But then it started raining and we never got to show our speed, we could've been easily in the top five, we just can't catch a break. I guess we used up all our good luck last week. Tomorrow we just have to survive the first corner and try not to get into trouble like we did last week, we are probably going to have to go on an alternate strategy since we are so far back, so if a yellow comes out we might try to pit early and get some clear track in front of us. It's going to be tough, this track is fast and narrow in some places, so passing will be very tricky."

Jan Heylen #34 Champ Car Grand Prix of Belgium Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone (Qualified 12th)

"Everybody was out there for a front row position because the lap times were most likely not going to improve from yesterday. We actually started out fairly strong and were leading at the beginning of the session. The team had planned my laps perfectly but by the last lap we had fallen back in the field a little bit. I think that I could have pushed the car more and taken more risk to get those last few tenths of a second to have a first row start but we did our best and are looking forward to the race tomorrow."

Ryan Dalziel #28 PCM Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone (Qualified 13th)

"It was a good day and I am disappointed that we didn't get a chance to qualify in the dry because I think we may have been good for 10th or 11th, similar to where we have been running all day. It was good to get a run in the rain though because the way the weather has been, it could very well rain tomorrow and now we have a feel for how we will be should that happen. If it rains in the race, it is going to be real tricky. This is one of the slickest tracks I have ever run on, but it is fun!"

Oriol Servia #7 INDECK Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone (Qualified 14th)

"I can say that I am obviously not happy because we are starting with the times from yesterday, but I'm actually the happiest I've been in a while because I feel we have a very good car, we changed it quite a bit and we've put it in a different window. I feel much better than I did in Cleveland and yesterday, we are starting fourteenth but when you have a good car it gives you the confidence and the speed to fight and to improve positions, so I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Qualifying was one of those crazy sessions, because not only was it first wet and then dry, but it actually was wet again for the last 3 corners of my last lap. Basically it was all about timing and being out there at the right time and we finished our last lap a few seconds too late and caught that last shower."

Alex Figge #29 PCM/Molecule Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone (Qualified 15th)

"It wasn't going to be a soaked session where luck would put someone in P.1 and we looking at Ryan's times we knew we wouldn't have a car fast enough for P.1, since we have similar cars. We decided to save tires for the race tomorrow. I could tell in the qualifying warm-up that we have improved so I am looking forward to tomorrow."

Bruno Junqueira #19 Sonny's Bar-B Q Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone (Qualified 16th)

"The car was definitely better than it was yesterday. I thought I had a top 10 car today, but the rain really hurt my chances. I gave the best effort that I could. The team has made a lot of positive changes to the car and hopefully I can get a top 10 finish in tomorrow's race."

Katherine Legge #11 Dale Coyne Racing Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone (Qualified 17th)

"The rain hurt me. I was in a good position for a great time on my last until I spun the car in the chicane. I tried to get as many laps in the last two days as I could since I didn't have the chance to come test here last month. I'm started at the rear of the field tomorrow so there is nowhere to go but up for me."
