Neel Jani 6th in Mont-Tremblant after a breath taking finish in an exciting, turbulent race

In spite of not having tested in Canada, Neel was on pace right from the start of Friday practice. The first qualifying saw him in 6th place with only 0.155 second away from the pole position. Even a better placing would have been possible, had it not been for a problem on the last corner of his best qualifying lap! Due to rain in the second qualifying there was no possibility to improve.

Neel had a good start and could keep 4th position and during the race moved in fact up to 2nd position due to fantastic team work by his crew. In half dry and half wet conditions his car setup allowed him to keep the 3rd position. In the last quarter of an hour he fell back to 6th place due to handling problems in heavy rain.

"We had a very good car for dry conditions. Also by drizzle rain I could keep up, but for heavy rain the set up was too extreme. I am very happy with my 6th position and am looking forward to the next race in Toronto and hope to finish even further up the grid, because I can feel the upward trend."
