West Allis, Wis. (June 2, 2001) - Persistent rains throughout the Great Lakes region curtailed activities at the Milwaukee Mile today. Indy Lights and Toyota Atlantics were lucky enough to get limited track time this morning.

The CART FedEx Series drivers were not able to practice nor qualify today and will start Sunday's Miller Lite 225 based on driver points.

Indy Lights began their practice session at 8:22 this morning, 22 minutes late due to moisture on the track. After the Indy Lights practice, Toyota Atlantics received ten minutes on track before their session was shown the checkered flag due to wet track conditions.

Townsend Bell was quickest in the shortened Indy Lights practice while Rodolfo Lavin was fastest in the Toyota Atlantic session.

Rain continued throughout the morning with weather radar showing little hope for resuming on track activities.

At 2:30 p.m., after fans were allowed on pit lane to collect driver autographs, the decision was made to cancel on track activities for the day.
