BRIDGESTONE/FORD CHAMP CAR NEWS -- Veteran Broadcaster to Join Champ Car World Series Broadcast from Milwaukee Mile

INDIANAPOLIS (June 5, 2004) -- In an ongoing effort to provide fans of the Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford with the finest television coverage, this season the series has utilized a rotating roster of talent to enhance its broadcasts.

The effort continues for this weekend's telecast of the Time Warner Cable Road Runner 250 Presented by U.S. Bank. as veteran play-by-play broadcaster Rick Benjamin will join popular color analyst Tommy Kendall in the booth for Saturday night's race.

The former host of TNN's (now Spike TV) Raceday show that covered all forms of racing, Benjamin has broadcast races for many years ranging from short-track Saturday night stock-car show in the South to the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans. Benjamin served as a pit reporter for the May 23 Spike TV broadcast of the Tecate/Telmex Grand Prix of Monterrey and will move into the lead chair for this week's show at the Milwaukee Mile.

Saturday night's 250-lap Champ Car event can be seen live on HDNet as well as through the new Race Director feature on, and will be seen on a tape-delayed basis Sunday at 4 p.m. on Spike TV.
