Michel Jourdain Jr. tested this Wednesday at the 2-mile oval of the Michigan Speedway, where is going to be held Round 12 of the FedEx Championship Series, on July 25. Michel Jourdain Jr., Car #19 Herdez/Payton-Coyne Racing Team: "This is the first time that we tested with a Lola on a Superspeedway. I ran 150 laps with my backup car and our best average speed was 222 Mph. I think tomorrow (Thursday) we can go faster." He added: "Also, during this testing Paul Tracy, Al Unser Jr. and Michael Andretti were on the track. For tomorrow are scheduled more drivers and this is good, to have a good reference in comparison with our work. Today we tried several things, but due to the car developed push, we were concentrated mainly on this problem. We were working step by step and there are a lot of work to do." "I like Superspeedways. Last year we did not have good fortune in Michigan, but in 1997 we proved we can do a good job here, because I regained positions up to sixth, when a gearbox problem slowed our pace."
