"It felt good to finally get out on the track. At the start of the session I was trying to find the limit before we started working on our race set-up. Once we had established a base-line set-up and were comfortable with the track we began to work on the balance to try and get the car to handle well in traffic. We made some changes at the end of the session that really improved the car but then we didn't have a chance to go for a quick lap. It's such a unique situation with the limited practice time that I think a lot of the teams weren't able to get all their testing done -- that's why there is such a big gap in the times -- there is never this big a difference in speeds on the ovals."

Gil de Ferran
"The track is different than anything we've run on before, and it was picking up grip throughout the session. I didn't get a good lap in there at the end, otherwise I think we probably would have been in the lower half of the top-ten. We made progress during the practice and we'll use tomorrow morning's warm-up practice to continue working on our race set-up."
