Tony Kanaan again led the Honda-powered contingent today in final qualifying for Sunday's Grand Prix of Long Beach, holding on to sixth place for the start of tomorrow's 90-lap race.

The Mo Nunn Racing driver will lead a group of three Honda drivers to the green flag tomorrow, with Monterrey pole qualifier Adrian Fernandez making the largest jump of anyone in the field - up to seventh from 15th in first-round qualifying on Friday.

Paul Tracy moves up one slot, to eighth in his Team KOOL Green Honda, and this weekend is debuting a new on-board camera located inside his helmet visor. Shinji Nakano moved up three positions to start 14th and Michael Andretti also improved one place today, but Dario Franchitti fell back two places and will start 16th.

Tomorrow's second round in the 2002 CART FedEx Championship Series starts at 3:30 p.m. EDT, with live television coverage on the FOX Network.

Tony Kanaan (#10 Pioneer/WorldCom Mo Nunn Racing Honda) 6th fastest qualifier: "It could be better, but it could be a lot worse, too. Again today, I don't think we could have gotten any more out of the car. We would have had to try some really radical stuff with the car if we were going to make it go any faster. But that's the way you play this game. You do your very best with what you've got on any given day. I like this track a lot, so I'm very confident I can go fast every time I go out there. So I'm hoping that will make a difference for us here tomorrow."
