Rookies JJ Lehto and Alex Barron reached personal milestones in Sunday's Rio 400 when each scored the first PPG Cup points of his FedEx Championship Series career.

Lehto (Hogan Motor Leasing, Inc. Reynard Mercedes) finished 10th, improving on his previous best finish of 14th in the season opener at Homestead. He scored three points and stands 21st overall in the PPG Cup championship.

Barron (Castrol-Degree Reynard Toyota) finished 12th, improving on his previous best performance of 14th at Long Beach. He became the 26th driver to score a PPG Cup point this season, and stands 25th overall in the PPG Cup championship.

All four of this year's FedEx Championship Series rookies have now scored PPG Cup points heading into the May 23 Motorola 300 at Gateway International Raceway outside St. Louis (1 p.m. ET, live, ABC-TV). Tony Kanaan (LCI Reynard Honda) continues to lead the Jim Trueman Rookie of the Year standings with 22 points. Helio Castro-Neves (Alumax Aluminum Reynard Mercedes) is second with six points followed by Lehto and Barron.
