Television Broadcast: Live - Sunday, April 8, at 3:30 p.m. EDT on NBC.
Bridgestone Potenza Tires Supplied:
* 546 primary dry condition slicks; 164 alternate (red) dry condition slicks; 304 wet condition tires
* Each car receives seven sets of primary tires, two sets of alternate tires and four sets of rain tires for the race weekend.
* Easily identified by their bright red sidewalls, at least one set of the alternate tires must be used for a stint in Sunday's race. Their construction is identical to the standard slicks, but they possesses a tread compound with better grip ("softer"), making them faster but possibly not quite as durable.
* Bridgestone Motorsport engineers will bring the softest, or highest-grip, primary, alternate and rain Potenzas to tackle the 90-degree turns and long sweep that make up parts of the brand-new Vegas Grand Prix circuit.
Quote from Al Speyer, Executive Director, Bridgestone Motorsport: "I can't remember the last time an inaugural event generated this much excitement, and Bridgestone Motorsport is proud to be the Official Tire of the Vegas Grand Prix. We expect that our Potenzas will give every driver on the Champ Car grid the extra confidence he or she needs to take on the challenges of a brand-new track in a brand-new car. And our alternate red tire program will, as always, add an extra element of interest for the fans at the track and those watching at home."
