Bruno Junqueira ends offseason testing with new Sebring's record

Newman Haas driver Bruno Junqueira, sponsored by Banco Rural, RM Sistemas, Telemont and Telesena, ended his offseason testing in style, prior to the Champ Car World Series opening, the Long Beach GP, on April 10th. Last Wednesday and Thursday, Junqueira became the first Champ Car driver to test at Sebring's main layout, long 3.7 miles (5.95 kilometers). More than adjust his Lola/Cosworth to bumpy circuits such as Cleveland and Monterrey (Mexico), Junqueira ended the testing as the first driver also to break the 130 mph average at Florida's racetrack.

On the best of his 167 laps - a huge distance of almost 1,000 kilometers on which he made many setup experiences - Bruno registered 1min41seg20 (131.62 mph). Happy with the results, he will have only four days in Miami, where he lives, before his arrival in Long Beach. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, he will have a hectic media schedule, as well as meetings with Newman-Haas engineers, prior to on-track activity.

"I'm very happy with our testing in Sebring. On the very first laps, I tried to be more cautious, so to adapt to the lots of bumps. On the second day, I was much more confortable in the car and tried to attack a bit more. We managed to complete good series of laps and it helped us a lot to fine-tune our setup".
